Hey there!
I know, I know, I know…. you are thinking what?… Snowball Surprise Cookies #SundaySupper… Really? Well you all know how the #SundaySupper team loves to have some fun. We thought, it’s December and what could be more fun this time of year than the Ultimate Holiday Cookie Exchange. That doesn’t mean we won’t be enjoying Sunday Supper Around the Family Table with our families. It just means, well.. it’s December and everyone loves a good Cookie Exchange so we wanted to share our favorite holiday cookie recipes with all of you.
As you all know, baking is a painful thing for me. Ugh, the measuring, the precision, the timing, it’s just so fussy. I truly believe that is says so much about our personality if we are good at baking or a cooking. I have to tell you, if anyone can make me change my mind, it’s Janet Keeler, Food and Travel Editor for the Tampa Bay Times and author of Cookielicious. I tried the Snowball Surprise Cookies recipes from Cookielicious and Ron and the kids said these cookies were some of the best they have ever tasted. Can you believe?
I have a confession… I had to alter the recipe just a tad. Instead of regular Hershey’s Kisses, I added the Hershey’s Kisses with the Caramel and Oh my! You are going to want to try this cookie my way!
Get the gang together this year for the #SundaySupper Ultimate Cookie Exchange and join the Sunday Supper Team and Janet Keeler Sunday at 7pm Eastern Time on Twitter. We are honored to have Janet answering any of your cookie baking questions and giving tips on baking the perfect cookie. And that’s not all, we are sharing over 50 of our favorite Holiday Cookie Recipes with you and giving away 5 signed copies of Cookielicious during the chat.

December 9, 2012 at 9:57 amOh wow you just pushed snowball cookies up a notch! I am going to have to do this with my recipe next time I make a batch. Which knowing me and this Christmas season will probably be next week.

December 9, 2012 at 10:06 amI want to kiss whoever first thought to make a cookie recipe that involved blending a few ingredients together. Delicious cookies that are simple to throw together? Yes, please! AND they have hidden hershey kisses in them? It doesn’t get better than that! After this week’s #SundaySupper, I may need to spend the other 6 days of the week at the gym. Cookie dough is my achilles heel!

December 9, 2012 at 3:15 pmIsabel, I am having too much fun checking out all of the great cookie recipes. I love this combo of walnut snowballs that are my mom’s favorite, and a similar cookie I made before that didn’t have walnuts, but the dough was wrapped around kisses.
Erin @ Dinners, Dishes and Desserts
December 9, 2012 at 3:20 pmGreat cookies – glad you got in the kitchen and baked! I am amazed by how many “non-bakers” are in the group, but everyone did an amazing job!!
Nancy @ gottagetbaked
December 9, 2012 at 4:00 pmI knew you could bake, Isabel! Your cookies turned out beautifully and props on the brilliant use of the caramel kisses. So what other delicious baked goodies are we going to see come out of your kitchen 😉

December 9, 2012 at 6:26 pmIn case you couldn’t tell by my blog, I love baking with Hershey’s Kisses, especially the flavored ones! Isn’t it funny how we either are we good at cooking or really good at baking, but not a strong forte in both? I mean I can cook, but most of the time I need a recipe and directions on technique (unless it’s pasta – I can always wing pasta).
Wendy (The Weekend Gourmet)
December 9, 2012 at 6:47 pmWe’re kitchen soul sisters, Isabel…baking makes me twitchy too, because of all the precise measuring. I make myself bake occasionally for the blog just to get out of my comfort zone. These cookies look FAB!!

December 9, 2012 at 8:05 pmAdding the hershey’s caramel is just pure genius! Can’t wait to try this!

December 11, 2012 at 12:24 pmI hear you on the not being a baker thing. I like to be able to taste things as they go along…adjust accordingly…etc! I am always saying a prayer and hoping for the best when I put a batch of cookies or something like that in the oven!
These sound really good, I have to say! And I approve of using the caramel kisses – they are so tasty!
Megan - I Run For Wine
December 11, 2012 at 1:17 pmI grew up on these cookies! Love! As you are aware, I am not a baker so I sympathize with you!
