Julia Child's 100th Birthday

Julia Child’s 100th Birthday Trending #1 on Twitter during #SundaySupper

I love Monday mornings!  To me, Monday provides us with a fresh start.  I begin every Monday by thinking, how can I make a difference this week? What am I passionate about?  How can I inspire others?  When I think about people who have inspired me, Julia Child always comes to mind and she has left a big smile on my face this Monday morning. I can’t stop thinking about last night’s fabulous #SundaySupper.  I am so honored that our Sunday Supper Movement was part of  the Kick-off  for Julia Child’s 100th Birthday Celebration with PBS Food.  What a memorable Sunday Supper Movement Event this was.

Julia has touched so many lives and inspired us all to make a difference in not only how we cook, but in the lives of our families.  The Sunday Super Movement Bloggers were thrilled to partner with PBS Food in this fabulous tribute and to share their favorite Julia Child Recipes. By the end of our Sunday Supper Movement Live Chat, #CookForJulia was trending #1 and #SundaySupper was trending #2 on twitter.  Like  Julia Child, the Sunday Supper Movement stayed true to its mission and  inspired families to spend time Around the Family Table.

PBS Food is celebrating Julia Child’s 100th birthday with #CookForJulia, a worldwide party in which food lovers honor her legacy by cooking one of her recipes leading up to her birthday on August 15. PBS Food is also highlighting Julia’s amazing life with never-before streamed episodes, celebrity chef tributes and more.

Julia Child not only pioneered an entire genre of television, she taught a generation of food lovers that cooking can be easy and enjoyable.

In honor of Julia Child’s 100th birthday this August, PBS Food wants to know how Julia Child has inspired and influenced you. Did she motivate you to become a cook? Did she keep you from being intimidated by making your own omelet? Did she turn you on to the glorious taste of butter?  See all the exciting events PBS Food has planned for Julia Child’s  100th Birthday at www.pbs.com/food.  We hope our Sunday Supper Movement inspires you to Spend Time Around the Family Table trying a new  Julia Child recipe.
