Fourth of July Menu Inspired by #SundaySupper

By FamilyFoodie 3 Comments

My goal this Fourth of July is to soak up every minute of fun.   I want to enjoy our family that is visiting  from Philadelphia.  I was looking for an easy make ahead menu that would leave me time to relax and enjoy time Around the Family Table.  After last week’s fabulous #Sundaysupper event, I knew I needed not look any further for easy, affordable and healthy recipes.

Everyone can’t wait for the Fourth of July because of the great food that is served…. but this day is about so much more.  It is about our Nation, our families and about cooking together with food we love.

Patriotic Chicken Kabobs

Let’s be honest, what is more All American than good Potato Salad?  I loved The Meltaways version of potato salad and couldn’t wait to try it.  After all, my kids love Ranch Dressing and I love the use of Red, White and Blue Potatoes.  Pam’s Patriotic Ranch Potato Salad was a must on our menu.

As much as I like tradition, I also love to trying something new.  I couldn’t pass up this fabulous Southwestern Corn and Black Bean Salad by Supper for a Steal.  It looks amazing and I bet it will taste even better!

My boys love Ribs. You have no idea how many racks they can polish off.   Damn Delicious  came up with a recipe that blew me away.  Who wouldn’t want to try Baby Back Ribs with Balsamic Peach BBQ Sauce?  Ron is King of the Grill and will make sure these are cooked perfectly!

I love having Kabobs at our cookouts.  They are easy to prepare ahead of time and easy to eat without needing utensils.  These Savory Patriot Kabobs by Big Bears Wife were the inspiration I needed!  Are they gorgeous or what?

What would a Fourth of July Menu Inspired by #SundaySupper be without fabulous Desserts?  My kids love to make smoothies and when I saw this recipe for Patriotic Strawberry, Blueberry and Cream Smoothies by Daily Dish Recipes, I knew it would be perfect for the kids to prepare.  Not only will they be delish, they will keep my kids busy for a while so I can get everything ready.

Every good party includes an “adults only” little something-something.  This recipe for Sangria Fruit Salad from Cindy’s Recipes and Writings, was the perfect something-something I was looking for.  Seriously, I love Sangria and now I have the perfect excuse, it’s in a healthy fruit salad!  It’s a win-win.

And lastly, brownies… the perfect the dessert!  Is there anything better than a good Brownie? Well, maybe… Red Velvet Brownies.  The minute I saw this fabulous recipe at  Magnolia Days, I knew it would be the perfect ending to a perfect Fourth of July Menu Inspired by the #SundaySupper Group!

The Sunday Supper Food Bloggers inspire me every day with their recipes and talent.  May you all celebrate a wonderful Fourth of July surrounded by the love of family and friends Around the Family Table…. no matter where the Family Table is… the main ingredient needed is Love!

Cheers to our great Nation!
