In case you haven’t noticed — we are a huge football family. Not only do all the boys play and the husband coaches, we love nothing more than to watch football on Sunday. This time of year, we tend to make an exception and sometimes we will even eat Sunday Supper in the family room. Of course this only happens if our favorite team is playing. Ok, sometimes it is more often than that. On those occasions, one of our favorite meals is Football Sunday Teriyaki Pulled Pork. Mom especially like this recipe because I throw it all in the slow cooker in the morning and forget about it until it is almost time to eat Sunday Supper. Meanwhile, the smile flowing through our home has us drooling until the tasty pork is ready to be housed in its bun. My kids and all their friends love this Teriyaki Pulled Pork and ask for it time and time again.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds pork roast
- 1 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Mix together teriyaki sauce, chicken broth, and brown sugar in a bowl.
- Stir in garlic, paprika, onion, and black pepper.
- Put pork into slow cooker, cover with the teriyaki sauce mixture.
- Cook on High for about 4 hours, turning 2 to 3 times during the cooking time to ensure even doneness.
- Start to encourage the pork to shred by pulling apart with 2 forks.
- Turn slow cooker on low and cook for approximately 45 minutes until most of the juice is absorbed and the pork is shredded.
- Place pork on fresh rolls and serve.

January 5, 2014 at 10:03 amFootball??? I live in Denver, need I say more?? We’re Bronco crazy every year. And Peyton has added fuel to that frenzy fire. 🙂 Thank you so much for this recipe because I’ve just found my Superbowl dish. This sounds delicious and so interesting with that teriyaki. Pinned! So nice to find your blog through Sunday Supper.

January 5, 2014 at 11:11 amSure looks good! What a fun way to share a Sunday meal together, even if it’s not the traditional, gather everyone around the dinner table meal, if the family is all together, enjoying one another, that’s what counts! (It’s even OK if they’re routing for different teams, although it can get a little dicey when that happens, at least that’s how it is at my sister’s house sometimes) Thanks for sharing this yummy recipe! HUGS!

January 5, 2014 at 12:28 pmHow fun is this…and only a handful of ingredients too! I just received a new slow cooker that I plan to use often. This one’s on my short list, because we too watch football every Sunday…and then we’re big Houston Rockets fans too!
Brianne @ Cupcakes & Kale Chips
January 5, 2014 at 12:57 pmWe break the rules during football season, too! And this looks amazing. I bet it would be good over rice, too!

January 5, 2014 at 3:46 pmThank you, Isabel, for a touchdown recipe for my UNC, Chapel Hill alumni hubby whose college days saw many meals of pulled pork…Appreciate, too, how you’ve balanced the sweet of the teriyaki sauce with the bite of the garlic and onion powders!

January 26, 2014 at 7:09 amThis is delish! I made it with a pork loin that was way too lean, though. Next time, I’ll choose a juicer cut. 🙂

January 26, 2014 at 11:11 amLet me know how it turns out with a juicier cut.

December 7, 2014 at 10:40 amOk so I’m super excited to execute this yummy recipe…only question I have is should I use beef broth or chicken broth? In the ingredients it calls for beef broth but in the directions it says to combine chicken broth. What should I do?? Help!?!
