BBQ Chicken on the Grill to go #SundaySupper

By FamilyFoodie 10 Comments

BBQ Chicken on the Grill to-go is delicious when enjoyed hot right off the grill or when traveling for a potluck.

BBQ Chicken on the Grill #SundaySupper

Summer and BBQ Chicken on the grill go hand in hand at our house. This recipe is our go to when entertaining at home or when traveling. We recently enjoyed a day with the kids canoeing and Ron whipped up a big batch the night before. We let them cool a bit and placed the delicious BBQ drumsticks in large ziplock baggies and threw them in the cooler. They were the hit of our trip and provided great sustenance for 12 hungry teenagers.  We may or may not have gone through 24 sandwiches and 36 drumsticks as we paddled down the river.

The trick with these delicious drumsticks is cooking them on the top rack and only adding the BBQ Sauce when you bring them down to the bottom rack during the last 15 to 20 minutes. They will get a beautiful reddish brown color and the BBQ Sauce will caramelize. It doesn’t get any easier or more delicious. The only thing you will need is lots of napkins!

BBQ chicken is a favorite in summer and these look so easy! I’m not surprised you went through all that food! Canoeing works up an appetite 😉

So much better than cold fried chicken to take to picnics or as in your case canoeing.

The drumsticks looks so good. Sprinkle some paprika powder before serving, probably not bad. 🙂
