Ever since I started blogging, I have watched the International Association of Culinary Professionals Conference from afar and wished that I could take part. I follow the twitter stream, I check out all the pics and I have wished that my blogging budget was larger so that I could attend this amazing conference. People come from all over the world to connect with other culinary professionals who share the same passion and experience a variety of current food cultures and I want to be a part of it.
It would be the perfect conference to help me hone in on my book proposal. I have had a cookbook in me for a long time but writing the proposal and taking the steps towards that goal, always overwhelmed me. I can’t imagine that I am the only blogger who could benefit from attending the IACP Conference and have the benefit of sitting down with a cookbook editor and having them give me advice on my book proposal.
Attending the IACP Conference and publishing a cookbook is on my 2014 bucket list. Can I do it? I have no idea but I am sure making this a priority for 2014. I have always loved inspiring others and helping bloggers reach their goals. I am thrilled to announce that Harvard Commons Press is sponsoring a Desserts In Jars Pinterest Contest and the winner will receive:
- One Ticket to the IACP 2014 Conference in Chicago
- $500 stipend towards spending and travel expenses
- Expert guidance in writing a cookbook proposal from Harvard Commons Press Editor, Dan Rosenberg
- Lots of fun by pinning fun Desserts in Jars and joining our Pin Chat
We need your help to make this promotion a success. Let’s get lots of delicious Desserts in Jars pins out there in the Pinterverse.
We’re asking people like you to create a Desserts in Jars Pinterest board (or give us the link to one you’ve previously created). And then we’re asking you to share it across other social media channels. In return, Harvard Common Press is giving one lucky Desserts in Jars Pinterest Board owner a full registration to the IACP in Chicago in 2014 plus a $500 stipend towards accommodations and a phone meeting with a cookbook editor to discuss your cookbook idea.
