Vo-Vo’s Famous Strawberry Cheesecake #SundaySupper

By FamilyFoodie 30 Comments

Vo-vo's famous strawberry cheesecake By now you all know how much Vo-Vo loves to bake.  This grandma is a baking dynamo! One of her absolute favorite things to bake is Vo-Vo’s famous Strawberry Cheesecake.  She bakes a cheesecake for every birthday party and every celebration.  We all look forward to and  love Vo-Vo’s Cheesecake, it is creamy and just melts in your mouth.  I think what we really love most is seeing the original designs that she comes up with.  The strawberries take on a new design each time she makes this cheesecake, and it is so much fun for us to see how creative Vo-Vo gets.  Sometimes there will be a chocolate drizzle, sometimes a strawberry drizzle – one just never knows what she is going to come up with for each birthday celebration.

The best part of Vo-Vo’s Famous Strawberry Cheesecake, is that it is made with love.  I truly believe that is the secret to making this extraordinary cheesecake.

Vo-Vo's famous strawberry cheesecake

We celebrated Vo’s Birthday last month and Vo-Vo’s famous strawberry cheesecake was the talk of the table.  Yep, the cheesecake is the highlight of all our celebrations… we loved this particular design.

  4. Stir the crumbs, sugar, salt and butter together
  5. Press the crumb mixture into the bottom of the pan
  6. Bake for approximately 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown
  7. Wrap the spring-form pan with aluminum foil and place in a large roasting pan

  14. Bake for approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, the center of the cake will still wiggle
  15. For the topping: Gently stir the sour cream, confectioners sugar and vanilla.
  16. If you choose, stir in 4 pureed strawberries, optional
  17. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and spread the topping over the cheesecake
  18. Turn the oven off and place the cheesecake in the oven for 1 hour
  19. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and run a knife around the edge
  20. Refrigerate overnight
  21. Bring cheesecake to room temperature and decorate with strawberries.... remember to come up with a creative design or Vo-Vo would be disappointed

Agreed, Isabel. Love is the best ingredient added to any dish or dessert. You truly are blessed with your Vo-Vo. How fun too that every time the cheesecake is made a different pattern is placed on top =)

I love it. And I think you’re right about love being the secret ingredient. I know it sounds so cheesy, but I do think it’s true. I was convinced after one time when I made risotto when I was really angry. It turned out terrible. The love and lovingly stirring was key, and that night…it just wasn’t in the cards 🙂 hahaha.
