Rustic Italian Bread is the makings of a #SeriousSandwich

By FamilyFoodie 5 Comments

We all know what we are good at and what we are not so good at.  I have always wished I was a good baker.  Well, I am not so good at it.  I think it has something to do with measuring ingredients perfectly and following directions.  Me, I like to experiment, throw a little bit of this and a little bit of that in things to create a recipe.  What can I say, following directions is just not my thing.  I think Emeril Lagasse just may have changed that.  I finally followed directions to a baking recipe… it was Emeril’s Rustic Italian Bread that did it to me.

The thing is, I have loved crusty Portuguese Bread for years.  My grandmother used to make her Portuguese Bread in her wood burning oven.  Can I tell you, it could be considered a delicacy.  What I wasn’t prepared for was that Emeril’s Rustic Italian Bread would resemble Crusty Portuguese Bread.  It was out of this world and worth me taking the time to follow the recipe to a tee.  Except I left out the sesame seeds.  Portuguese Bread doesn’t have sesame seeds!  Woops… did I just deviate from Emeril Lagasse’s recipe?

We enjoyed the first loaf with brie cheese and olives but the next loaf of Rustic Italian Bread will be the foundation to some #SeriousSandwiches!

Thanks to Emeril Lagasse and his recipe for Rustic Italian Bread, I just may become a recipe follower.  I have had so much fun trying recipes from Emeril’s new Cookbook. You are going to love all of Emeril’s Kicked-up sandwiches in his new cookbook. You can purchase your copy of Emeril’s Kicked-up Sandwiches HERE.

Do I have you excited to try Emeril’s cookbook?  Here’s the best part, I am giving away a copy to one of my followers.  All you have to do is go HERE and tell me your favorite Emeril Lagasse recipe in the comments below and BAM!

Isabel big props on trying something new. I love baking but I concede that sometimes the freedom of savory cooking can be fun!

Sesame seeds wouldn’t have changed it! This looks great.
