Emeril’s Kicked Up Sandwiches | French Bread Pizza

French Bread Pizza Sandwiches with Hot Italian Sausage

Can I tell you that there is a chance that we may never order pizza again.  I am not kidding. When we tried the French Bread Pizza Sanwiches with Hot Italian Sausage from Emeril’s new cookbook, we were hooked.  Remember I told you Reis and I were taking turns going through Emeril’s Kicked-up Sandwiches Cookbook and choosing our favorite recipes.  Well, Reis was so excited when he found French Bread Pizza and couldn’t wait to try making these sandwiches.

All 3 of my boys and husband loved these French Bread Pizza’s.  It is the perfect after school treat or even Weekday Supper with a nice salad.  The best part is that everyone can join the fun making their sandwiches Around the Family Table.

We loved that the French Bread Pizza started out as toasty garlic bread.  That was such a tasty base.  The addition of a little bit of lemon juice really added some pep to Emeril’s Kicked Up Sandwiches.

Emeril's Kicked Up Sandwiches

Growing up in New Jersey, I lived on pizza sandwiches.  We had amazing French Bread Pizza from Avenue Deli.  It is hard for me to believe that I had never made them with my kids.

Made these tonight, too. Like pizza, this is a recipe to play with – I can’t wait to try adding veggies. The lemon juice in the garlic butter was surprisingly delicious.

I’m thinking these sandwiches look so good they might just be my new favorite Emeril recipe. Until then my favorite (or one of my favorites) Emeril recipe is his banana bread.
