Easy Meals and Tips for Busy Schedules #WeekdaySupper #FamilyDinnerTable

By FamilyFoodie 4 Comments

As a busy working mom of four, one of my biggest struggles is getting dinner on the table during the week.  This is especially true during the fall when I have to get my boys out the door for football practice.  I learned a long time ago, when we had 3 football schedules plus a cheerleading schedule, that easy meals are the key to eating dinner together as a family.

Our Weekday Supper Meals are usually created from a spin-off of our Sunday Supper creation that week.  Our evenings run much smoother when I plan ahead and create a meal plan on Sunday evening for our week.  I like doing this because it keeps me organized and also because I can think about all the ingredients that I need and use them in each recipe,  therefore I don’t have as much waste. This also saves money on our grocery bill.

American Family Insurance, is focused on building a community of dreamers. They believe that building the next generation of dreamers starts at the family dinner table. That’s the inspiration behind the Back to the Family Dinner Table campaign. Through Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter, we’ll be sharing family favorite recipes and the stories behind them.

This week’s Weekday Supper Recipes were inspired by the American Family Insurance employees.  They submitted some of their favorite recipes and our talented contributors are ready to share them with you.  You are in the for a treat!

Monday – Curious Cuisiniere – Oriental Burritos

Tuesday – Cindy’s Recipes and Writings – Cinnamony Sweet Potato Muffins

Wednesday – That Skinny Chick Can Bake – Green Bean and Bacon Bundles

Thursday – girlichef – Crunchy Ramen Salad – 2 Ways

Friday – No One Likes Crumbley Cookies – Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

We want all of you to help us with the #FamilyDinnerTable Campaign.  American Family is creating an e-cookbook to inspire families to come back to the table, and we need your help! Share your recipes for your chance to be featured in the cookbook by submitting a family favorite recipe here.  You will be entered to win one of six $100 Williams-Sonoma gift cards. One lucky entry will win one valued at $500! When the e-cookbook comes out later this fall, you’ll be among the first to receive a copy.

I can’t wait to see the recipes this week. It’s so much fun that they are special ones people have submitted in AmFam’s sweepstakes.
