Cinnamon Affogatos #SundaySupper

By FamilyFoodie 23 Comments

I have a new favorite drink that I am totally hooked on.  From the first time I saw Cinnamon Affogatos in the  Desserts in Jars cookbook, I knew I had to try this delicacy.  I think it was the Cinnamon Gelato that first attracted me.   The taste of caramel and coffee is just heavenly and often makes me question if this is really a drink or is it a dessert.  I think I like to refer to Cinnamon Affogatos as a drink because it sounds better.  After all, I couldn’t possibly tell all my friends that I am enjoying a dessert every afternoon.  Anyone that knows me knows, I am not a dessert lover…. but this drink is just out of this world. Try it and tell me what  you think.  I bet you will be hooked too.

Oh my that just sounds amazing! I bet you could actually stir some hot coffee into it to make more of a coffee drink but the way you have it, I think I could drink 3!

I remember my first time combining coffee and ice cream. It was when I studied abroad and was so intrigued with it at the cafe on campus. Now I like to combine the two for morning coffee…er I mean evening dessert. I never really thought about playing around with the flavors. Usually it’s just chocolate or vanilla. I’ll have to try it with caramel or even dulce de leche!

I’ve been so excited to come and read your post, Isabel, because I LOVE affogatos and haven’t had one in over ten years. I don’t blame you for getting hooked on this: caramel, cinnamon and coffee is a killer combo. I love this!

I never knew what an affogato was until this post! I had heard it dozens of times on TV (probably Top Chef?), and now I finally know what they’re talking about 🙂 As a White Russian fanatic (combo dessert and drink, in my opinion), this is calling my name. You’re right – I would be HOOKED as soon as I tried it, I’m sure of it.
