Memories: Easy Weekday Supper Recipes #WeekdaySupper

Wow!  What a busy weekend we had at our house.  When you combine a Football State Championship Game and Prom Night all in one weekend, there is a  lot of excitement and activity going one. It’s weekends like this that I am reminded of the importance of the memories that are made every day.   As the end of Ronnie’s High School Years approach, we are holding on to great memories filled with friends, football and love.  It’s amazing what four years can do in a child’s life.  It has been a pleasure watching him mature into the young man who is ready to leave for college.

Prom Night 2013

Reis and his team had a moment of disappointment this weekend.  After a phenomenal season, they lost in the championship game.   Although as adults, we can see this as a moment for growth, the boys left defeated, realizing that this may be the last game they would play together.  Most on the team will be playing High School Football next year.

Life is full of change and moments of growth.  Watching my boys at different stages of their lives gave me the opportunity to reflect on the importance of the memories that we create in our homes every day.  Memories that will last a lifetime and shape not only their future but also those around them.

Speaking of new beginnings, I love Monday mornings because every week we get to start over!  I know this week, I will be making an effort to spend a little more time Around the Family Table.   I couldn’t think of a better way to get inspired to do so than with these wonderful recipes from our Weekday Supper Contributors.

What a fabulously busy weekend you had, Isabel! I love that you’re so involved with your kids and get to share in these important memories. My parents were too busy working, plus having grown up in China where they themselves didn’t experience these things, they didn’t see much value in events like prom or sports or school concerts. I’m don’t hold it against them at all because that’s the reality of things. It just makes my heart warm to know that you’re so supportive of your kids and get to experience everything with them.
