Strawberry Steak Salad combines all the delicious flavors my family loves and it is packed with nutrition.
Food and people. Is there anything better than when those two things come together? Our food supply seems like such a simple concept. You go to the grocer and you buy what your family enjoys. I have learned through my journey with food that there is so much sweat, work and love before we can bring food to our family table.
The growers, the farmers, the breeders, the packers and the shippers — people. It comes down to the people who care and are passionate. I love learning about our food and I’ll be spending a weekend on the Florida Strawberry Fields with twenty other bloggers. This weekend, we are doing just that-Meeting the growers, the breeders and everyone else that is passionate about Florida Strawberries. You can follow our Florida Strawberry loving escapes on instagram. I’ll be sharing much more with you since we are have another full day of events today – follow #SundaySupper and #FLStrawberry and you can be in on the action.
I am smiling from ear to ear at this amazing event Florida Strawberry Growers Association has put together for the #SundaySupper family. We will experience the boutique Epicurean Hotel and its “cooking theater” in Tampa, FL., and get a taste of local restaurants, including Ava, Cask Social Kitchen, Elevage and Edge Rooftop Bar at the Epicurean and the Harry Waugh Dessert Room at the legendary Bern’s Steak House.
The best part of the weekend will be our live Twitter party at 7 p.m. ET Sunday. Follow the hashtag #SundaySupper and join the live party from the Epicurean Hotel. We promise, you do not want to miss this fun event.
Inspired by this fun weekend, I am sharing one of our favorite recipes during Florida Strawberry season – this simple Strawberry Steak Salad is to die for!

- 2 cups baby kale mix
- 2 cups slices Florida strawberries
- ¼ cup poppy seed dressing
- ¼ cup crumbled blue cheese
- 10 slices of thinly sliced steak (approximately 1 small steak) This is perfect for a leftover steak or cook an extra the night before
- In a large bowl, combine the kale, strawberries and poppy seed dressing until well coated.
- top with blue cheese crumbles
- layer the sliced steak
- add additional Florida strawberries on top
