Join us for an Interview with Mr. Harris Rosen of @RosenHotels #FWCon

By FamilyFoodie 1 Comment

Come join us tonight on Google+ and meet, Mr. Harris Rosen, the man behind the hotels.  Click here to join the live Google+ Hangout at 8pm.

Rosen Shingle Creek #FWConOn a recent visit to Rosen Shingle Creek, the sun was rising and I sat in the concierge lounge sipping coffee and working on my laptop. The view from the 14th floor, as the sun was rising over the golf course, was absolutely stunning.

I couldn’t help but look up from my work, when I heard an employee, squeal with excitement into the phone. When she hung up, she looked my way and with a smile from ear to ear, said — “today is my birthday and that was Mr. Rosen calling to wish me Happy Birthday.”

When you deliver the unexpected you succeed at the unforgettable.

I was honored to be staying at the hotel that morning to interview someone who has inspired me along my journey, Mr. Rosen. My first experience at Rosen Shingle Creek was approximately two years ago, I was new to blogging and I had been invited to dine at A Land Remembered. This signature Steakhouse, overlooking the picturesque Shingle Creek Golf Course is an experience not to be missed. When it includes a visit from Mr. Rosen, the owner of this 230 acre perfectly manicured resort, it becomes not only an unforgettable memory — it is a lesson in business and how simple gestures can inspire others.

A seed was planted during that first visit to Rosen Shingle Creek.

I had a dream when I started my blog and that dream turned into a reality last July as I hosted the First Annual Food and Wine Conference with Rosen Shingle Creek as our Presenting Sponsor. Planning your first conference can be a very scary thing and although I had gone over every little detail, when I walked into the room on opening night, I was blown away! The attention to detail was so evident that it became the reassurance that I needed to know that I could execute the conference and create memories for the attendees that would last a lifetime.

The first Annual Food and Wine Conference was truly a dream come true.

Meeting many the members of our Sunday Supper Community for the first time was a dream come true. I can remember posting “Even though I had planned the conference, I had no idea that it would be executed like this… When we walked in on Friday night, it literally shocked me to see this room and to see everyone. I was walking with Ron and my two youngest (the older two were working registration) and all three of them stopped and said Wow!”

Food and Wine Conference Taste of Rosen #FWCon

Mr. Rosen is a master at Building Dreams — He glows as he tells me about The Tangelo Park Program that he created. It has provided over 200 scholarships to high school graduates of Tangelo Park, a disadvantaged neighborhood in Orlando.  He is most proud of the fact that 100% of the children in this program graduate High School and 77% graduate college — a mind blowing accomplishment.

The Second Annual Food and Wine Conference is focused on going from Blog to Business and we will kick-off this year’s conference with Mr. Harris Rosen as our Keynote Speaker.

Rosen Hotels & Resorts is the largest independent hotel chain in the State of Florida and Mr. Harris Rosen is respected in the community not only for running a successful, debt-free company but also for all his philanthropic efforts with Tangelo Park and the Harris Rosen Foundation which supports many charities.

Rosen 40 years

It is an honor to kick of our Food and Wine Conference interview series with Mr. Harris Rosen who is celebrating 40 years in business . Come join us tonight on our Google+ Hangout at 8pm and hear about Mr. Rosen’s journey.
